Style or Clunky ~ Bluetooth Performance is what counts!

Some go for stylish good looks when buying electronics and other look at the performance and forget about the style.

I have been using bluetooth hands free wireless technology for a long time for my cell phone.  The deal isBluetooth technology simple for me.  I purchase one of the top of the line ear piece units called Jawbone.  It isn't for me, it makes my ear ache, the noise cancelling qualities are less then desirable.

Less than three months ago I upgraded to the Jawbone.  I want hands free when I drive.  It makes using the phone very easy and I have control while driving with both hands available.  That was the plan anyway, having a hands free technology.  It turns out to be after adjusting, swapping ear buds and ear clips to hold the unit I still have to press on the unit with my finger to get people to hear.

Today I went back to the old style clunker that may not be as flashy or set any trends.  People never complained they couldn't hear me.  They didn't have the background noise and they never said call me back when I can hear you while I was driving in my car.

Listening to the Economy?

The general theme is cutting back, conserving and seeing what happens.

The trek to the bank standing in line leads offers time to listen and reflect.

As I go through my week I have had less time and more issues to deal with....sounds like everyone else's life to me.

But, today was a day when I realized that my hurried schedule and 80+ phone calls per day was really nothing that I should be frustrated about.  I should be singing praises of joy...my phone is rieconomic woesnging.

I talked to a sprinkler installation company today.  His phone didn't ring once in February or March.  He didn't get one call for quotes on upcoming projects to be built in thstanding in linee spring.  Last year he had 18 employees and he has six this year.

I stood in line at the bank and people were restless with the wait.  They have cut back to two tellers on Saturday.  One tell handles general banking and the other handles business banking.  The line was to the door with people coming in and leaving when they seen the line.  Some took their car and went through the drive-thru line.

The teller said we have cut back on tellers.  She added, "don't get me wrong I am happy to be working but some days are a bit hectic."  I had overhead a patron just before me give her a high degree of frustration for the wait.Grocery store inventory cutbacks

The grocery store lines, stock on the shelves, inventory reductions, work cut-backs are what is an everyday life issue in Michigan right now.

So my phone is ringing.  My sales people have increased their sales output over last year.  That may be because of advertising, branding or simple service.  Who knows but they are very happy that they can service clients that have been shell shocked with the worse economy in the nation.

That being said, we also have some bright spots....the people.  They view is hope, anticipation and rebirth....change.

We can see and feel many changes.  The first time home buyer market is still strong.  The investor market is also strong. The traditional sales is moderate but steady all in all it could be worse so be thankful and keep a stiff upper lip.

America has more investor money sitting on the sidelines right now that we have had since the great depression.  That is something to think about!

Investor Screening methods for better Tenants!

I had an invest I work with share a novel approach to screening tenants.

I thought we needed a laugh for the day.  Maybe there is more truth to the method than madness.

This investor does all the usual methods of getting a signed release to check credit history.  The release also covers a background check.

Then comes the personal interview before any contracts are signed.  The investor/landlord talSmile you could be the next renterks with the potential renters.

None of this is news or new but....during the interview the investor/landlord looks at the renters teeth.  Yes you read it right!  The thinking is if their teeth are taken care of then they take pride in themselves and will be a better renter.

Now the renter investor has one more confirming method to check before granting the lease to the Car full of trash?potential renter.

The investor/landlord walks the possible tenant out to their car after the interview.  The investor/landlord wants to know if they have a clean car.   You read that right too!  If they do not have junk all over inside their car they are likely to take care of the rental property as well.Organize your trash

So it may not be just your credit report that gets you into a property.  It may not be a police record, it may be your hygiene!  Many people looking to lease a property never give it a thought that their hygiene and personal habits

I just had a little chuckle when the investor shared with me how they approach finding a good tenant.

The Investor/Landlord said, don't laugh it really works 80% of the time over the years.
